Lake Isobel Winter Wedding
Benice and Christopher lives in Sydney, Australia. The came over for a Lake Isobel Winter Wedding. Lake Isobel is at 1700m and south facing so when the snow falls it stays…
After many snowfalls lately there was plenty of snow up there. We picked them up from their accommodation in Arrowtown and drove to the airport to meet Glenny’s our celebrant and pilot James. It was a great day with blue skies and light winds as we flew up towards the snowy mountains. James took us around for a check of locations before we decide on a spot on a ridge with sun and slightly less deep snow.
We landed and I did a quick check of wind and snow depth before we shut the helicopter down. They wanted snow for their wedding and they got it. In some places it was waist deep! we walked up a track to the ceremony spot overlooking the lake. After the ceremony we walked to a few spots just around the helicopter and got some great shots in the snow and wintery mountains. We flew back to Queenstown and signed the wedding licence before driving towards Lake Hayes for more photos.
The lake was completely still and was great backdrop for more photos. Next stop was Arrowtown, we drove across the river to a spot upstreams for more photos before finishing on the frosty grass fields of Arrowtown.
