Megan and Simon chose an unforgettable way to celebrate their love, a heli elopement deep in the heart of Fiordland National Park. With four breathtaking helicopter landings and scenery ranging from alpine ridges to mirror-like lakes, their mountain wedding was the perfect blend of adventure, intimacy, and natural beauty.

Now living in Queenstown, the couple wanted a celebration that reflected their shared passion for the outdoors. A Fiordland heli wedding offered everything they dreamed of: dramatic landscapes, complete privacy, and the luxury of exploring multiple remote locations in a single day.

Their day started with storm clouds and strong winds and we needed to wait for a beautful calm weather window - inbetween the storms. It came and it was wonderful flight from Queenstown, soaring over valleys and towering peaks. Each landing revealed a new and spectacular backdrop — panoramic snow-capped mountains, lush valleys of native forest and wildflowers, a serene lakeside setting, and a rocky outcrop overlooking a cascading waterfall. Every stop brought a new moment to savour and stunning opportunities for photos.

This journey through Fiordland’s diverse terrain made their elopement feel like a seamless adventure, allowing them to focus entirely on each other while surrounded by New Zealand’s wild grandeur. Back home in Queenstown, Megan and Simon continue to enjoy the landscapes that made their wedding day so magical. Their story is a beautiful reminder that a mountain elopement doesn’t need to be far from home — especially when world-class scenery is right in your backyard.
