Sophie and Alex’s heli wedding was one of those days that felt effortless, joy-filled, and bursting with laughter from beginning to end. If there’s an award for “most fun heli wedding,” these two might just take the trophy! Joined by their closest family and friends, their celebration in the mountains was everything a helicopter elopement should be — intimate, adventurous, and full of heart.

We were incredibly privileged to be their photographers and to capture not only their love, but also the pure happiness shared among their guests. From the moment we lifted off, the energy was high and the smiles were constant.

The day began with a flight to the Tyndall Glacier, where the bright spring sunshine lit up the snowy landscape perfectly. Sophie and Alex looked incredible against the icy blues and crisp whites, and we made the most of every moment. From there, we continued on to the shimmering shores of Lake Lochnagar. The views were absolutely breathtaking — the kind of scenes that make you pause, breathe deeply, and savour the beauty around you.

After their pre-ceremony photos, we flew to Coromandel Peak to meet another helicopter carrying their family and friends. Watching Sophie’s dad walk her down a mountain aisle is a moment we’ll never forget — simple, emotional, and completely unique to this incredible setting. Surrounded by loved ones, Sophie and Alex exchanged personal vows, rings, and a celebratory round of bubbles before officially becoming Mr & Mrs in the heart of Queenstown, New Zealand.

Back at the hangar, Sophie’s mum had organised a beautiful surprise: a custom cake inspired by the ocean life that Sophie and Alex love so much back home. It was absolutely delicious — and yes, we all ate far too much of it!

To finish the day, we headed to Lake Johnson for more family photos and some final moments with just the two of them. The light was soft, the smiles were real, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect heli wedding adventure.

Sophie and Alex’s wedding was a reminder of what makes these mountain celebrations so special — the blend of adventure, family, and those once-in-a-lifetime memories that will stay with everyone forever. What an incredible day to be part of.

Love and Live Happily Ever After!
